I was lucky enough to get some great footage of my P. Compta spawning behaviour.
It's a 4x timelapse. With the timelapse you might miss out some of the details, but more than 1 hour of footage would be pretty boring to watch. From looking at the original I can tell that there is no kind of agressive behaviour that would justify the term "trapping". The male will always allow the female to leave the cave. She goes in and out as she pleases and it is a pretty tender relationship for what I can tell.

Awesome video!
I have had trouble getting this species to spawn. Males kept trapping females but no output at all.

What a great video! Years ago, when I still lived in NL I had these and some other L numbers. Very pretty pleco's.
I am just returning a bit to the hobby, hope to find some of these here in Spain.
