Is this a Cotton wool fungal infection.

Hi,

I'm only posting the Neon Tetra because it's in my catfish community tank. And i'm worried if this could spread to anything else. From my research it looks like a cotton wool infection, and this is all over it's nose area. But please tell me if i'm wrong or what it could be.
I have since put it in quarantine with a small dose of Blue Planet Fungus Cure that has the main ingredients of Acriflavine and Malachite Green.

Thanks

It looks like columnaris to me. Though called mouth fungus, it is a bacterial infection which requires antibiotics to cure.

Hi,

Thanks for that link, it does sound like that for sure. And seems to be bad, i just hope others in the tank didn't get it before i moved the sick one out. I will just have to keep an eye on the rest for a while.

Appreciate it, Macrae
