angelicus questions

Hi everyone,
could anyone give me some simple pointers as to sexing angelicus? I have read the cat-e-log info, but I'm still confused......although I think part of the trouble is that it would appear mine are all the same sex, it's always easier to vent-sex things if you have male and female to compare to.

I can sex multipunctatus - is it the same sort of thing?

Also, how small could I sex angelicus? If mine are all female I'll want to find a male (I know the chances of me breeding them are really slim, but it's definitely not going to happen if I don't have male and female!). I know somewhere where I can get small ones which are about 1.5-2" - what are my chances of sexing them?

Thanks,

Collingwood

How large are they? Could be that yours are too small to sex reliably.

Basically, yes. Boys have what is technically known as a "thingy", girls don't. :)

That may just be too small to tell.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply!

They are about 20cm, and several years old. So if I can't sex them at this size I 've got problems!!

Thanks, that is just the sort of "technical" info I was after! :D I guess I was worried there was some subtle difference I wasn't getting....

I think I've got it sorted out now, the ones I have must be female and I had trouble being confident about it because they both look the same. As for the little ones in the shop I think I'll just have to compare the ones that are there and if there's no difference I'll assume they can't be sexed reliably at that size.

Cheers,
