Hi
what makes you so sure about this being C. bilineatus, Eric?
I have not collected it in the north of Bolivia yet, not in the Madre de Dios region at least, which I would assume to be the only place where this fish could be from if it is C. bilineatus and from Peru.

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for pointing that out. In my haste, I overlooked catch location. In that case perhaps
is more appropriate. Would you agree?
Cheers, Eric

Price will depend largely on what the LFS thought they were getting from wholesaler or foreign exporter. If they thought they were getting elegans, these might be as cheap as $4.99 USD per fish. But if the LFS was ordering something less common, the price could be $9 USD or more... at least that's what I experience in California.
Cheers, Eric

I haven't kept c126, but I've kept 3 or 4 species in the elegans group. Mine all did well in same conditions: mild temps (mid 70s F), modest water current, live or freeze dried foods, neutral pH (6.5-7.5).
