Hypancistrus

This catfish gives me real trouble. It's definitely Hypancistrus, but anything further isn't working for me. The sign says it is H. inspector (L102). It doesn't look like one, because of the larger spots especially near the head. So then I was thinking about H. contradens, which fits until someone mentioned Hypancistrus sp. L201 that looks almost identical. And then there still is number L471, which also seems to be an option. So when I was comparing the three of them, I noticed that the top of the dorsal fin is black, a typical sign for H. inspector (L102). But that's the only mark that fits the profile, the fish doesn't have black caudal fins and the spots are too big. I'm hoping any of the experts here can help me out with this little fish. It is unfortunately my only picture so this is all I can provide, location is unknown as well. Thanks in advance and hopefully there is an answer at all!

Looks like to me. It is certainly not as no small spots on the face and moreover no black margin to the unpaired fins.

Hi

This is H. contradens, formerly also known as "L 201 Big Spot". The location would not help unfortunately, even if it was known, because all similar forms of this species share the same distribution range, which is rarely given more precisely than "Río Orinoco".
