I bought these 2 a while back not knowing what they were, do they look like L226's and what sex are they? They lack the "wormline pattern" on their face, or it's just that I can't see it.

I hope these pics are usable because boy they are hard to photograph for some reason, (note the line spacing of the paper underneath is 18mm for reference). They are also lighter than what they appear in the pics

Top and bottom views are not going to ID them. We'll need good photos of whole fish from side to show barring pattern, and a photo that shows the face better. It's true that old specimens can have the scroll on the face seem to break up as the lines get so close, but you should still see hints of the pattern.

As far as sexing, you have two males.

What seems to be the ID on them now we know they're both males? I anyone also has some tips to get better pics I'd appreciate it

L226 looks like good ID to me.

Next question: How easy or difficult are they to breed? Assuming I found a female, what could they compare to? I've bred BN's and L136 for a reference.

I've not kept these so can't say for certain but I would imagine similar to other species of Panaqolus, which means generally not quite as easy as BN and Hypancistrus, but certainly very doable.
