What L# is LDA33 (snowball pleco)

Post by Mbuna Marcus »

Hello all,

just confused how I see LDA33 used to describe every snowball pleco species out there. What is the true "L" number for this designation? I've seen it associated with L142, L201 and a couple others. Love to hear your feedback.

's species profile answers thus but bear in mind common names are less precise than l/lda numbers and both are prone to misuse. Always best to use genera when talking about "true species"... For example, anything black with larger white spots can be called a snowball pleco. But a with big white spots, well, that's easier to know what we are talking about.
