Does my pleco look healthy?

Post by Tl52505 »

Just got my pleco about a month ago and he seems a little lighter than some that I have seen but always has been. Does he look healthy. He eats fine and acts fine but breathes really fast when I walk up to the tank

Your fish appears to look OK.

If the rapid breathing continues when the fish is 'unaware' that you are observing it, increase the oxygen intake and try treating for gill flukes.

I can’t tell if he is getting lighter or just camouflaged with the gravel

These colour fluctuations are normal and indicate mood.

I was getting ready to switch tanks and after having everything moved but the fish, the filter on the new tank is not working. The pleco is almost completely white. Could this be due to stress of everything being moved around, and will he go back to normal

Also does anyone know anything about overflow filters, because my brand new one just rattles and doesn’t pump any water.
