Thanks Shane. Given that I don't keep large plecos, I haven't tried large broccoli stems. But I have used small stems with Ancistrus, etc., and in fact with the smaller species, I have better food consumption when I blanch and shave the broccoli into very thin slices (as I do with raw sweet potatoes: chip-style slices).
