ABSTRACT
A new catfish of the genus Glyptothorax is described from the Chakpi River, Chindwin drainage of Manipur, India.
differs from its congeners in having a mottled skin, an oblanceolate leaf-shaped thoracic
adhesive apparatus without a median depression, a serrated dorsal-fin and a short nasal barbel, not extending
to anterior margin of orbit.
