I am not asing for me but someone is planning on getting a King Tiger and a Gold Nugget pl*c and they asked about them on another forum to see if they are ok in their 50US gallon.

Is it me or do I remember reading on here that there are more than one king of pl*c called a 'gold nugget' and that they vary a lot in terms of size at least?

Cheers Yann, you have just proven me right. A guy I was talking to insisted that the only difference between the types of gold nugget is the spot size. Never mind the 7" in body size, then?!

Well if the fish is 7'' long it can means it is either a full grown L81 or a yet to more L18, you should be able to dsort out L177 without using size.
Speaking with a exportator in Brazil, depending of the catching locality of these "Gold Nugget" you can easily seperate at least 9 different geographical population...
But science as yet to described this/these species and determine if we face 1 or more species there...
