Discus Laying Eggs

Hi Guys,
Thought I'd stick this in the speak easy as it's not really catfish orientated. Mods, please move it if ya feel it should be in the tank talk.
ANyway, my discus (German cobalts), have just started laying eggs on my fluval. Only problem is that while she's laying them (the other he/she, is eating them). Any ideas how I tell if he (if it is a he) is fertilising them.
Should I try and save a few, or just leave them to get eaten. I have anet I can place over the filter otherwise the loaches etc will have a feast.
cheers guy.
