From Nanay river in Peru.
I bought it as “ Callichthys callichthys” but I feel strange in its body.

Hello @aotoo.
Can you get more photos? Good side view photos and also photos of the abdomen, especially the pectoral girdle?
Thanks,
Eric

Thanks. The fish has no obvious coracoid bones, so I'd agree with Callichthys, not a different genus.
Could your fish be a different species of Callichthys? I don't know, but I'm not aware of other species being imported.
Cheers, Eric

Head pattern is also differnt from common callichtys callichtys.
Picture above is this one.
Picture below is common one.
Both locality are same. Some specimen were imported from same locality and only this one is strange.
Is there a possibility that a different species of Callichthys was imported mixed with common ones?

I do see the difference. However, males will develop heavier heads when maturing. My best guess would be this is what is happening here.
If not, then perhaps a n. sp. in the Rio Nanay but this seems unlikely.

For ease of comparison, I took your last two photos of the faces and put them side by side. I also flipped horizontally the image of the "common" one so that the two heads are angled approximately the same. I hope this is helpful.
Cheers,
Eric

I was thinkng this might be other species of callichthys before question.
I’m glad to know the most possible is female callichthys callichthys.
Thank you all.
