Posting about this book is like posting about the crappy self-published books on corydoradines one finds for sale in Amazon or posting about a paper published in a predatory journal.

There certainly are many low quality self-published books, but there are also good ones. I don't know this book, nor its author, so I can't judge the quality or originality of any information in the book, beyond the obvious failure of the author to use the valid taxonomic name.

I appreciate your cautionary perspective.

Cheers, Eric

Interesting that they selected an illustration of Ameiurus melas for the cover.

Already two strikes against it so far.

Cheers,

If you look at the photo on page 5 of the book, the species being studied isn't even M. leucophasis, but either M. cavasius or M. bleekeri.

Three strikes. I am moving this out of the Science News forum.
