Hi Everyone,
I have 4 of these plecos that are currently about 7-8 inches each and growing. I believe they may be L-001, but I am not sure. Any thoughts on identification? The dorsal fin is high with gold spots. Thanks!

We have plenty of these here in many LFs. Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus aka L 1 i say. They have arrived from Asia and been bred over there

Yes, L1 (= L22). They are probably the same species bu one is brown and the other nearer black.

Hi again,
Many thanks for the feedback, I thought the same but I just wasn't sure! Any idea what an 8" one sells for? I suspect I will not be keeping them, too big for my planted tanks, thanks!

Here in germany these big plecos rarely make it to the lfs at these sizes. But you can often get them for free or very low prices (in the 10-20 euro range) on forums because they grow so big and nobody wants them once they passed 30 cm.
