Do you already have a return pump to use in your setup?

If you don't plan on drilling your tank, do you already have an overflow or would you have to purchase once of those also?

If not, you might be better off putting that money towards a bigger tank - 20L perhaps and a HOB (hang on the back) filter?

Unless you have everything, I really don't see the point in putting a sump on a tank that small.

I agree with Ron, your tank is too small to use a sump. If you were worried about costs, just becuase you have a spare tank doesn't mean you don't have to spend any cash to use it as a sump. You will need a pump for the return, an overflow box, and a wet/dry filter to put into the sump.
