Hello all...

I purchased this fish a month ago and have been trying to figure out exactly what it is. My LFS sold it under the name Hypostomus Wuchereri. But couldnt find any info on that. Someone else on the net suggested it could be a Chaetostoma cf. thomsoni which my fish looks like. I talked to my friend at my LFS and told me they probably could be the same fish. I know the H. wuchereri comes from Brazil and the C. thomsoni comes from columbia.

Can anyone shead some light on this???

these pics are of the one I have under different lighting conditions

yeah, I figured that out but where does the H. wuchereri name come in to play?

is it just another instance of confusion via name change?

For some reason, the name Chaetostoma wuchereri (which does not exist) has been floating around aquarium literature.
Presumably, this is the cause of the confusion.
