Hi everyone I want to run a piece of pipe across the back of my 3 foot tank but am unsure on the best way of connecting the pipe to the back of the glass,If you can help please post here on how i can do this or even a pic of a tank with pvc pipes connected to the tank to help me please.
The pipe is only for a hideout but i want to make sure its safe,Thanks in advance!

A better description of the purpose, or location, of the pipe would be helpful since there are several options available.

I want to fit the pipe to back glass of the tank.The tank is 36 inch long and i was thinking of putting say a 24 inch pipe in there for a large gibby to hide in,He is about 9 inch long so it Must be safe,I was thinking of usin two plastic brackets and silicone (of the fish friendly kind)

From your description, I assume that the tank is empty at the moment. Therefore, you could easily mount with just the silicone, or with plastic brackets. I would advise that you use coarse sandpaper to rough the edge of the PVC that will be siliconed. That will give the silicone more surface area to bond to and get a stronger bond. With such a large fish, it would definitely be useful

Why do you want to silicone it to the tank whats wrong with it just resting on the bottom at the back?

Just wondering but i have always regreted siliconing anything to tanks. When it comes to using it for somethink else you might understand what I mean.

Well yea i wanted one on the bottom and one half way up but i considered your point with the silicon and maybe wanting to reuse the tank afterwards for other use's so im using some heavy duty suckers now with pvc brackets,I will post some pics here when done
