General Pleco Question

I'm relatively new to the wonderful world of aquariums but my brother has been in it for a year or 2 now so I've gotten some experience through him. I have a spotted sail fin pleco which I think is a female but I'm not sure. At any rate, I have gained from this site that they are very difficult and costly to breed. So my question is: Is there any type of pleco that you could recommend for a novice to try breeding? My community tank has been an unmitigated success so I'm interested in taking it a step further. I understand that I'll probably have to get a separate tank which isn't a problem as I was planning on starting a species tank anyway. Any information you could provide would be greatly apprieciated.

Just one word: bristlenoses (they fairly cheap as plecos go, too). Search this site for Ancistrus and you'll come up with tons of info on how to breed them.
