The sterbais decided to lay eggs this morning. What I notice is a really small white dot inside the tan color egg. Are the eggs fetile or infertile?

What is the best way to remove the eggs? They are in a 20 gallon with a pair of bristlenose.

Is it common for most of the eggs in tthe first batch to turn white?

only 2 eggs hatched. The rest is infertile.

usually when i see the white dot inside the eggs that means they are infertile... but congrats on the spawn.. as now that they have started, they will continue to spawn and the fertility rate will get better with each spawn.. well that is from my experience anyways.

Agree. Normally if there small white dot of meat opaque density is infertile.
I can tell and separate the eggs after a day or two.

That is true so far for me of species Trilineatus, Sterbai, Aeneus and Duplicaerous.

How often will they be spawning now?

It is the 3rd day after hatching; they do not look like they are eating. I am feeding microworm 4 times a day follow by a water change 1 hour after. The water is coming out of the breeding tank.
I added a clump of moss for coverage.

Do not feed the fry yet. You have to wait about 4 days for the yolk sacks to dissolve before you start feeding. All you are doing now is fouling the water.
