I recently got a juvenile Acanthicus adonis and would like to know if they're a fast water fish, because I get that impression from their streamlined shape. Also, my fish had a faster than normal gill rate at first, despite no nitrite or ammonia. I have added extra aeration and lowered the temperature from 26 to 24C, which solved this problem. pH is 7.2.

We have kept these cats in with discus at extreme temps with no problems. As you say the extra aeration helps, but I would normally keep at 75 f. We have had had these fish in the past with almost peach coloured spots is yours the same.

The tank that I kept my adonis has very strong current and the temp is around 29 degrees, and its one of my most active pleco!
