Still another Syno.

Hi, I'm new.

Got this little guy in June at about 6cm and now he's pushing 12cm. It was sold to me as an "upside down cat" in spite of the fact that it wasn't swimming upside down and has yet to do so. He does enjoy resting vertically though, head up, which he is actually doing in this picture (I flipped it).

I originally came here to find out about the distended belly issue but apparently that's normal? Still, just look at the size of that thing! What a gut! Keeps the tank spotless, though.

Any ideas what he is? Or she? Thanks!

I have 2 of those, they were sold at Petco as upside down catfish. Mine also have big bellies but they are hogs so I know that's where that comes from. Mine only come out after lights out, then I will see them swimming upside down. Mine like to hang out vertically next to the heaters. They squabble with each other also. Interesting cats.

That's totally it. Thanks! I though I had looked at all the pictures, but must have missed these.

Mine's a complete hog too. I watched it hoover up a whole huge clump of bloodworms intended for my dwarf frogs. I'm thinking one of these days he's going to get the frogs if they don't watch out.
