I plan to use the same setup that I use for my
Anyone has the water parameters of their environement in the wild.
As in some places in Nigeria, the water is rather soft and in other place it is slightly alcaline... so I want to make sure which way is the best to follow...
Any thoughts??

I too have an even dozen of these and have split off a trio of one obvious female and two males,I have them in with broken pottery and some small anchored spawning mops, they sit in the mops but as soon as I get near, they dive under the pottery,I am doing the rains for one week on and one week off with my tap water(straight from well) to start with, and then go from there.
As far as the females full of eggs mine looks as you can see the eggs but as everyone that has these seems to have a bursting female has anyone checked to make sure these are eggs and not some kind of parasite,I have not dewormed the fish I have.
I know in another thread Sid was saying the rainy season was in the spring and right now I think they are presently into a dry season but is there not actually two rainy seasons,is this not the case in east africa at least.

Or a full stomach. These things are absolute hogs when it comes to feeding.

Nigeria is in west Africa. There are no
Microsynodontis in east Africa.

I realize this (should have written my question better) but do they only have one rainy season in West Africa.
