This form of Panaque nigrolineatus comes from the Rio Caqueta drainage. They are not seen often as after the failed peace talks the year before last, the FARC (narco-terrorists) took over that region.

Dang, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I just purchased one around 2 months ago. I'm happy that I have one that might become a rare one later on and sad because there might not be anymore of them. Sigh:(

And, oh yeah. I do find them very beautiful, as well.

How can you see the difference? As far i have understood, L-191 does not have red eyes like L-27. Is this correct?

L 191
Eyes not bright red
Body color a dark slate gray
Dark markings on body broken, not connected and linear
white stripe across the caudal peduncle (unique amongst the P. nigrolineatus group, but also present in P. suttonorum.)

Is "broken line" the same fish as "dull eye" (L191)?
