Great news! His fin growing back is a sign that things are not too bad, or even fine. I think you can now take things a little bit more easy, as it's up to him doing the rest. If ammonia/nitrites levels don't go up, you can stop doing water changes on a daily basis and let the tank finish cycling by itself. If either levels are going up again, then go back to the emergency routine, but otherwise, sit back and enjoy your fish. This will also minimise the amount of stress to your fish which will surely help. Keep us posted and send more pics so we can see how things are getting on.

i tested the water again this morning and it looked like the amonia levels went up again! i did more water change, but this time i used the jungle tablets. i guess troi is right afterall... it might be the food... i just feel so bad for not feeding them.

btw, they look fine...

On normal conditions the ammonia produced because of feeding (fish waste and uneaten food) is consumed by the bacteria. As your tank is still being cycled, it is likely to raise your ammonia levels a bit. On the other hand, I think that not feeding the fish until your tank is cycled is impractical as it make take a few weeks. I would feed them, but only about half than I would normally feed.

Testing your ammonia and nitrites level when you tank is cycling is very important and I do it on a daily basis so I can keep things under control. Doing daily water changes will dilute the ammonia and nitrites levels in the water. Adding 2ml of AmQuel+ to the fresh water will detoxify the ammonia and nitrites (but will not remove them) making them safe for your fish. If your ammonia or nitrites levels really shoot up, you can add some more AmQuel+ directly to the water to detoxify them. Your fish look fine and are most likely fine because the AmQuel+ makes the water fine for them.

Your fish can be observed and will show signs of suffering the ammonia and nitrites. They usually gasp at the surface and become irritable towards each other if they do suffer. Cories will usually swim up and down the tank and/or dart to the surface _very_ often to breathe. If your fish do not behave like that then it means that your AmQuel+ is doing what it should.

i tested the water this morning and the ammonia levels dropped to somewhere inbetween 1.0 and 0.5! woohoo!
i still did 20% water change and added stress coat, stress zyme and melafix. the fish are not darting around neither gasping for air. the "sick" cory (i need to give him a name!!) looks a little pale to me... is it possible? i mean, i know his an albino, but he looks paler than the other ones!

i gave them just a little bit of flakes this morning! i swear it was less than a pinch!! and tied up a little slice of cumcuber for the pleco last night... he loves it!!

keep your fingers crossed, plz!!

i still think the cory is whiter... does anyone know if it can happen?

just an update!

the cory has been doing very well. he's been visibly more active and eating better too! his tail fin has grown even bigger! i'll post some pictures later!
