HI every one ,its good to be on a forum where every one has the same addiction ( CAT FISH ),is there a cure or is it for life .

My name is Bob and I live in Queensland ,Australia .

First question ,has any one breed Cory Narcissus ? they are very small eggs and I find the fry are hard to raise .anyone got any ideas .

Second question, any one breed Brachyrhamdia marthae ? I would like to try to breed them , I have 3 adult fish 2 male 1 female ,

It is a challange keeping cat fish in australia we have strict import laws here , so any good cats ei.L numbers can cost a fortuine if you can find any for sale .

Welcome to PC Bob.

Given the laws in OZ, apologies in advance if in our discussions we make you drool over fish that are hard to come by there! :D

As for the eggs, C. narcissis are not one of the more commonly bred species but are you sure these aren't from the Brachyrhamdia ?
Most Pimelodids have very tiny eggs.

Please provide more details or start another topic in the Callichthyidae Forum.

I am sure Ian (aka Coryman) would be able to answer any questions you may have.

you breed Gibby's?
that's quite unusual, unless you have them in a pond....
queensland would be warm enough to pull that off; esp if you're a bit up north.
but it isn't too cold in Brisvegas in July/August?

your "winter" up there, was a very nice warm "summerholiday" for me, last august!

It is warm enough , days are 32 nights are 20 at the moment and now is when they are breeding .

They are in earth ponds , as soon as I can work out how to post photos I will do so .

They wont breed untill the water gets to 28 or 30 .

Temp wise its a holiday all year here .
