| Identification | Anaspidoglanis is characterized by a broad, flattened head and a blunt, or rounded snout. Small eyes situated dorsally on head. Edge of caudal fin rounded. For this species preserved specimens are uniformly brownish red, paler ventrally. In young specimens, 5-7 pale vertical bars may be visible on the flanks. Pectoral, pelvic, anal and sometimes also the dorsal fin are more or less transparent.14-17 anal fin rays. |
