| Identification | This species is sometimes confused with Callichthys callichthys. The visible coracoit bones by the pectoral fins is an indication that it is some form of Hoplosternum or Lepthoplosternum species. In Callichthys, this area is covered by skin and not visible (although the same bone is there in the fish. Callichthys also has a flatter overall body. |

now Aug 08 they have slowed down abit once ever 10 days or so
Spawned 27/7/08 but did not keep the eggs, did not have a tank spare. :(
Spawned 6/8/", (3) Chrysichthys, (4) Redcatman (k: 2), who also notes: "I live in a soft water area. The only water quality parameter measured regularly is pH which is kept between 6.5 and 7.0. Ammonia and nitrite are usually zero when I do occasionally measure it. Nitrate controlled by parial water changes every 2-3 weeks. The tank is filtered using an old (40 years!)Eheim external filter which has been in continuous use since it was purchased. Contains various Eheim filter materials also bought 40 years ago. Only material replaced is a layer of filter wool.
