Feeding
Omnivorous - will eat both vegetable, periphyton and meaty foods. Prepared food such as algae wafers and household vegetables such as beans or courgette(zucchini), as well as live or frozen bloodworms for example.
Furniture
Caves are an important part in making this fish happy. Prefers stony hideaways from wooden ones.
Compatibility
Territorial towards conspecifics.
Suggested Tankmates
Compatible with most fish. Can be a bit slow to take food, so it's probably best to avoid mixing with more aggressive bottom-feeders.
