| Identification | This red colour form is considered to be artificial although it is unclear what species or methods were used in its production. Aqualog introduced this fish with an l-number of L010a, it is very different from L010. |
| Sexing | Males grow short spines in the top of their heads and pectoral fins. |

| Feeding | Adaptable omnivores, these fish will eat most foods from cucumber or zucchini slices to frozen bloodworm or dry flake foods. |
| Furniture | The fish should be provided with half-pipe type refuges which also often be used as spawning sites. |
| Compatibility | Peaceful and not territorial. |
| Breeding | Breeds in fairly usual Rineloricaria manner, male guards the eggs in a cave (pipe, around 25mm diameter, according to some reports). |
