Husbandry Information | |
| Feeding | Will eat a wide variety of live, frozen and prepared foods. Meaty foods are particularly relished, as are smaller fishes. |
| Furniture | Provide plenty of rock and driftwood, which should be securely fastened. |
| Compatibility | An aggressive loner. As with other Hemibagrus specis, very intolerant of other fish inhabiting the same tank. What it cannot eat, it will kill out of spite. |
| Breeding | The fish spawn in pools within rivers or within the flooded forest, usually depositing the eggs in a substrate of leaves and twigs. The parents apparently exhibit brood care. |
