Behaviour | Female chased around the tank, followed by male. She was obviously looking for nooks, including the inside of a moss ball. One egg was laid at a time, held between pelvic fins, then she would move and place another egg in the next spot. Main areas were in bogwood, plants etc. 16/04-17/04 New spawn, both females involved, following large water change few days prior. Still one egg at a time, glued to underside of curled leaves or in moss balls. 6 eggs collected, placed in a fry saver on the side of tank. |
Eggs | There were 4 clear eggs laid which were 2.0mm in diameter. |
Segregation | Community tank and I suspect that the eggs were eaten by the cherry barbs.
2nd series of spawns. 6 recovered from java ferns & mossballs. Put eggs in a net frysaver in the main tank.No antifungal treatment. |
