Breeding |
Behaviour | Standard cory breeding with multiple males chasing females, T-position mating, eggs left in batches on virtually any flat surface (vertical preferred so many on glass) |
Eggs | There were 60 white/clear eggs laid which were 1.0mm in diameter. |
Time to hatch | 3 days Number: 0 Free swimming: 0 days |
Segregation | Tank mates limited success in main community, most eggs eaten in 24hrs or less.
Segregation of adults not required as spawnjng was regular. Some eggs transfered to a pygmy cory tank where a few successfully hatched. |
Fry sizes | 7 days: 0mm 14 days: 0mm 21 days: 0mm |
Juvenile sizes | 1 month: 0mm 3 months: 0mm 6 months: 0mm |
Fry and juvenile feeding | Crushed flake when housed with adults, plus extremely fine fry food. Microworms taken when large enough.
New fry spent much time seeming eating from 'dirty' preused substrate and sponge filter. |
