Species Information | |
| Size | 50mm (2") SL. Find near, nearer or same sized spp. |
| Identification | Corydoras are identified by their twin rows of armour plates along the flanks and by having fewer than 10 dorsal fin rays. They are most commonly confused with the other genera in the sub-family, namely Brochis, Scleromystax and Aspidoras. Similar in appearance to Corydoras punctatus, a species only found in Suriname. It differs slightly in colour pattern having fewer larger body spots, those along the juncture of dorsal and lateral scutes may form an irregular broken stripe. |
| Sexing | Females are a little larger than males and have a heavier appearance, with rounded, fan shaped ventral fins compared to the slightly pointed fins of the male. |
