Re: Four spotted synos for Cat-eLog
1. Possibly obesus, I can't see nothing that doesn't fit for this species. I might have two pcs of obesus at my tank, I'll try to get some time to put some photos of them. 2. I wouldn't say robbianus, I have four of them at the moment(3wc, 1 russian bred) and shape of body and head should be more ro...

First could be dorsomaculata, can't say for sure.
Second one is caudalis.
Third one looks like a hybrid, what is the origin?

Definitely waterloti, I've had plenty of these and they have many kind of color pattern. Only little bit confusing is dorsal fin which look little bit too pointed and too high.

Birger, what do you think about Synodontis polli "black"? I have been looking at these every day since you posted...just thinking (it hurts) How many of these do you have? What is its size? Is this picture how its color actually looks? I think I would like to see your fish have a few meal...

Fish trip to Germany VOL2
I must be a little bit crazy because I made a trip to Germany for fishes, again. Now it was four days and 3000km and of course lots of interested fishes, mostly catfishes. I visit at Deister Aquaristik at Hannover and OF-Aquaristik at Frankfurt. Deister Aquaristik was new for me and I can highly rec...

I did find out that the a. macrostoma need to be kept alone as they will fight and nip fins of their conspecifics. I have kept several A. macrostoma and Parauchenoglanis sp. at the same tank(720l) without any trouble. In fact many times there was 2-3 species at same pipe. I still have few macrostom...

Nice catch!
Can you get mouth shot of Euchilichthys?
I have two Euchilichthys guentheri and biggest one is 17cm(TL) now and growing fast. Its head has turned more granulate so I assume it is a male.

Females are little bit over 30cm(TL) and male is about 20cm(TL) There is many photos of this same species that are labeled as C. furcatus but as far as I know it is synonym for nigrodigitatus.

you DO know that usually in the creation of hybrids the parental fish die because they don't survive the injected hormones for very long nor the squeezing out of eggs and roe?
