Re: Centrodoras Brachiatus

A have a C. hasemani. Got it in 2001 while attending an ACA in New Jersey. Bought it at 10cm from Shark Aquarium for $14.99.
Keep it in a 180 with a royal pleco and a lot of guppies. Eats pellets, mackerel, herring, smelt, trout, silversides and the guppies.

Re: Which Cyprinid???

I don't keep mine with larger bagridae.

Mine eat flake, pellet, blood worms, brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, glass worms and cut up smelt, salmon, shrimp, krill, mackerel.

Basically anything I feed my smaller and mid sized fish.

Re: Which Cyprinid???

I agree, It appears to be a Labiobarbus burmanicus. I have a shoal of 19 of them. I find them very peaceful and although they are said to get to 30cm, mine are between 15 to 20cm at almost 2 years of age. I bought mine at 7.1 cm on January 5 2011. I have raised them in a 454 litre tank. NOTE: Labiob...

Re: Gulper Catfish

I keep 6 in a 273 litre tank. I bought them in May 2011 and placed them there for quarantine and they are still in the tank. I find that the less light the more active they are. So at night with just the slightest ambient lighting they all are actively swimming amongst the driftwood in their tank. T...

Re: New member getting a vulture tomorrow

I've owned 3 of which 2 are still in my tanks. I find them to be very peaceful. The first I got January 3, 1988 from Big Al's Aquarium Services in Mississauga Canada at 15.2cm and I kept it alive until 2002 at which time it was 63.5cm. I raised it in a 180 and later moved it to my largest tank. A gr...

Re: HELP needed for my Wallago attu(baby)

I have one about 17". I got it at about 3" in Oct 2011. I placed it in a 10 gallon tank. Filled the tank with guppies. Provided good aeration and filtration. Did weekly water changes. Like Viktor I placed small cubes of fish into the tank. I use herring, mackerel, smelt, shrimp and trout. ...

Re: Hemisynodontis membranacea the African Moustache Cat

I have two of them. They are the only ones I have ever owned. Both are around 14". I bought the first one in 1990 from the Aquarium Center Randlestown Plaza Maryland. It has always been an awesome fish. I thought about 4 years ago it was on it's way out as it stopped eating. But about 6 months ...

Re: Which part of the world are you from?

Just a thought and probably many have noticed Central America and South America lumped together and have mentioned the following.

Central America is an area of NORTH AMERICA.

Crazy as it may seem but North America ends in Panama. Even Trinidad is part of North America.

When it comes to feeding time, he only really eats algae wafers and an occasional goldfish. These fish are terrible and finding food. Re: New Mini monsters on the feed.

I have not had a lot of experience as most of you have had with Zungaro (Paulicea) zungaro (lutkeni). However I have found the fishes personality and the size of the tank to be a defining influence in their behaviour. I only have owned them over a 10 year period and never owned a large adult. I'd be happy to alter the size, but I do need a photo with some sort of size evidence - ideally fish next to a tape-measure or ruler, but a dollar bill or something else that is "known size" would be equally good... -- Mats Mats unfortunately he is in the big tank now and I don't believe ...

Given that the sample size is so small, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt. Thank you I did not know that the siz...

What 26" tl Auchenoglanis is this

It is very aggressive at times and was sold to me at 4" in 1996 as a giraffe catfish (A. occidentalis). It was 26" when last measured in 2008. It is a couple of inches larger now.

Even a growth stunted RTC will be 12" or more at 12 months. So your tank is really too small for even that period.
please look for a larger tank asap.
