C16 would normally have the banding on the dorsal ridge extending into the caudal fins. These does not seem to be the case for the specimens above. I would also go with Corydoras simulatus . However, I wouldn't be surprised to find a few C16 within the shipment. They seem to be found with Corydoras ...

Hi Squid,

I do feed my corydoras with Tetrabits amongst other things. They are quite happy with in. Variety in the diet is always good for the fish.

There is a black band across the eyes. Adult Corydoras loretoensis don't seem to have this physical feature. Body shape also seems to be different.

Could they be juvenile Corydoras kanei?

A better picture would really help but I suppose it's not an option in this case...

The comon panda corydoras

Hi guys, Just bought some Corydoras panda . Common as they might be, they are still very adorable and difficult to resist. So I ended up with a whole tankful of them. Here's some photos from this batch. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v85/aquaticzone/Tanks/Panda%20tank/_Y1W2786ER.jpg http://img.ph...

Hi Silurus, That's quite a bit to digest... By the way, what's cleithral (humeral) processes? Care to point me somewhere where I can read up more? As for the top of the snout, we often see some corydoras (e.g. Corydorus aeneus/paleatus ) having a deeper body, kind of like having a hunched back. This...

Hi Ian, Thanks for the comments. My initial suspicion was that these are two extreme variations of the same species. However, I do realise that there are some with spots on the head while others are without the spots. The pictues in your site (C26 & C46) being one example. Do you think C26 and C...

Hmm.. Corydoras atropersonatus have clear caudal and dosal fins. The second fish above has marked fins. So that rules out Corydoras atropersonatus . Unfortunately, I do not have any information on where the fish was imported from. In another literature, I do see a picture of Corydoras orphnopterus ,...

Hi guys,

Got this recently.

Image

Suspected it to be Corydoras elisae, but can't be sure. It certainly has baring on the dosal and caudal fins, abeit a bit faint.

Anyone?

I do find that Corydoras sodalis has rather varied markings on their body. Some have a distinct black line along the lateral line, others just have an overall netted marking on the whole body.
