Spots are small because the fish is in its adult stage.

Re: Anybody know about super white 236 morphs?
I actually have a separate group of L470 I got from a different source. These are much bigger around 3" and my mimics are staying relatively small at around 2.5"-2.75". Could be L400 but patterns are much different then the L400 I have seen around. Love them regardless and trying to s...

Re: Anybody know about super white 236 morphs?
In my opinion, I think L236 is a natural hybrid. To me the give away is how variable the patterns are and also color from super white to cream. Would love to go but with my work schdule I won't be able to pull it off this year, hopefully next year. Can't wait for pics of your fish and good luck with...

Peckoltia compta sexing question
I know this topic is very debatable but everywhere I read, most Peckoltia especially Peckoltia compta males get "hairy" but the question I have is if you look at a female, are the TOTALLY hairless or do they have some but much lighter? Reason why is I have a group of 5, 3 are adults, 2 are...

Re: I'm Going In- Fry Catching
Very nice list! Great work! That's a good observation about the TDS of the well water. Wonder if the TDS is high because we haven't got much rain this summer at all. I will have to monitor that. I got a big list of plecos and I want to try to spawn all the groups I have so it should be interesting. ...

Re: I'm Going In- Fry Catching
Awesome info! What are you well water parameters? My well water at my new house has a higher TDS then I would like it's around 142 ppm. City water at the house is around 91 ppm.

Re: I'm Going In- Fry Catching
I wish I could get my groups going like you! just tried a dry and rainy season on a wild group of L046 and L262 and got nothing.. For some reason, I only have good success with spawns in November-January, not sure why.. I will have to test the tap water to see whats so different about it. Great work!!

Re: Sex my L025
Yes I 100% agree with you. I'm having such a difficult time trying to sex them. I guess both had lots of hair on pectoral fins? Head shape looks almost identical on all of mine to.. Maybe slight differences but not sure if it's a sign of different sexes or not. Did you do anything special to get the...

Sex my L025
Hi everyone I would like to know your thoughts on my L025. All I have are over view shots for now. I couldn't get a pic of my 5th one, it wouldn't come out of the cave but I managed to get a pic of 4. None have a outstanding amount of "hair" on pectoral fins. But number 4 has the most of o...

Thanks for the replies everyone. That is not a specimen container, just a plastic container I have laying around the fish room and these are hand picked speacial L333 from multiple different spawns. These are 3" range could possibly be 2.75" or so but they are over 2.5" for sure. I'm ...

Tank size for pair of Hypancistrus?
Hey everyone I was curious on what size tank everyone had success with the most with a breeding pair of Hypancistrus adults? I have some pairs in their own 20g tank (24 1/2"x12 1/2"x16 3/4"). Would a 15g (24"x12"x12") tank be ok as well? Thanks in advance

This is a great thread and I'm glad you guys all talked about this subject of TDS and experimenting with it. Musaica are not surface feeders they are bottom feeders atleast my guys are lol. The worms drop to the bottom and start attacking them like sharks, it's a great sight to see!
