Re: Baby Zebra leaving cave, first pic
yeah i have been thinking about how to vary the diet of my L260 as well, not just meat-based pellets and frozen foods. they show a little interest in zucchini, but maybe peas will do. i usually feed sweet peas to my BN plecs in the same tank.

Re: Fat Bristlenose Pleco
they all feed at the same spot - right next to my pleco caves. it is the dark spot in the tank and all my plecos love hanging out here. On the left of my tank. I gave them zucchini last evening and the BNs ate it, even L260 were so hungry they were in the brawl over it as well - but maybe they were ...

Re: Fat Bristlenose Pleco
yeah the problem is with just one albino bristlenose male that i raised from an egg, so I am attached to him. his counterpart is a female who is growing fast and is healthy, but this male not only slowed down in growth, now he got really fat in the last days. never happened to him before. if i starv...

Re: Fat Bristlenose Pleco
my BNs do get zucchini often and sometimes peas, but i guess ever since i got L260 i have been feeding meaty foods a lot every night and that's what probably did him in. I'll try to feed more greens for the BNs while feeding the meaty stuff every other day for the L260. L260 don't get bloat from too...

Fat Bristlenose Pleco
Hi, My albino BN pleco juvenile is getting very fat and has been like that for 3 days now. usually when he eats well he deflates overnight, but not anymore. i am afraid that this is bloat. he got it for no apparent reason. i do overfeed my tank a lot at night for my new L260, but am now going to fee...

Re: L264 Breathing Heavily
maybe he got overworked and too much into breeding. then chemically something bad happened to him or internal damage somehow occurred in his attempts. just really bad luck i'd say. try again!

Re: Pleco feeding schedule
i have L260 and i know they dont come out in day at all yet so i feed at night and i see them out on the driftwood at night sometimes. but they hide fast. it's just their natural behavior reinforced by their genetics. if you feel that you can condition them to feed in day for viewing, then feel free...

Re: Bristlenose Plecos
from the ebay pics it looks like it might be a female but from your pics it looks like a male so it could be either one. I'd buy from aquabid and not ebay on more expensive plecs like this. i am almost 100% those are not green dragon as advertised. the blurry photos just dramatize the greenish color...

Re: Bristlenose Plecos
yeah the first pic is not a BN pleco. second pic is a female BN pleco and the last two pics are males. the third pic has bristles up in the face area so not female. just a later developing male. as mentioned they are not green dragons, just regular BNs. still really nice plecos. i used to breed them...

Re: Spawning lasiancistrus
i believe that BN plecos also have glue on their eggs. they stick very well to rock and even glass surfaces and it is difficult to get them off w/o damaging a few.

Re: Newbie question
be aware that cucumber has the least amount of calories of any vegetable. zucchini should have way more than cucumber.
i'd say zucchini is overall a better choice.

you have a variety of fish in there
but i thought i saw some Chinese algae eaters. you may not want to keep those permanently. they get vicious.
EDIT: nevermind, i thin kthey are in your QT tank now

Re: 40 Gallon Community
I got some new swords for my tank I am looking to get some Diamond tetras instead of my neons because they have been slowly dropping off due to neon tetra disease and it seems unavoidable at this point. my one cardinal tetras has outlived all neon tetras in my tank. he is really colorful and strong....

Re: 【help】My L260 ill?
Yeah that struck me as odd too. i never see mine in daylight either.
the second pic might be a film now that i look at it again, or it could be overexposure in the photo, since none of the other photos show the film as clearly.
I didn't know plecos even got films up until you told me

Covered in a film? What?
Is there really a film over the fish in that picture, because what i see are the shiny spikes on the scales all over the body. Most plecos have this "shine"
