Re: Fungus?

Thanks for the replies. I am in the UK and would need to order these meds overseas. I posted a topic on Ian's site (Corydoras World) and he suggested trying some Primafix plus a little salt, i am going to go with that just now. When i got back from work today i found two dead, but the others look al...

Fungus?

I have a 4ft x 1ft x 1ft tank, with an Eheim 2224 external canister filter, and a internal fluval and two sponge filters running on it. The tank is 25 degrees with soft water, ph of 7.6, kh 1 & gh 1, the tank has some oyster shells in it. It has been running for nearly a year and was originally ...

Re: Lost of my L 333 fry died

To me, a 3G tank is too small to hatch out fry in, a 10G tank minimum would be much better, the bigger the tank the more stable the water, and the best results comes from leaving the eggs/fry in with the parents. It sounds like they are breeding in a community tank and then you are moving the male a...

Sexing Zebras

There is five fish used in the pictures, the group pictures did not turn out well. Apart from one fish which i bought and is a bit older, the fish are all around four or five years old, grown on from fry. I think there is one female in the group, but looking at the group in the tub it looked like tw...

Growth On Zebra

I found this zebra with a growth on its head when i was removing them for some photos for sexing. It was in a group of six adult zebras, and it looks like there is mainly males, possibly only one female among the six. There has been evidence of aggression in the tank on and off over time, five have ...

A point to note, is L46 have never been legal to export from Brazil and still are not.
It was Janne that said this on a thread somewhere, L46 have allways been and still are on the banned list !

I have never really looked at these fish since i got them a couple of years, i just kept there water good and fed them well. Re: Dither fish for L046 and L260

I keep a few corydoras similis with my zebras as dither fish, i read similis are a cory that don't mind the warmer waters zebras like. I don't keep any dither fish with my queens, as i find a group of queens pretty active for a hypancistrus and i also find they are quite voracious eaters, who are qu...

Re: time between breeding periods

Time between breeding for pairs of hypancistrus is really random. I have a pair of L46 that can breed for two or three months, and then not breed for six months, even up to a year. Hypancistrus tend to have spurts of breeding and then a rest period inbetween breeding which is a random period of time...

I recently bought a group of L260, but now that the fish are settled, they are turning out to have a black colour with a yellowy/goldy patterning, while any L260 i have kept before have had a black body with white patterning.
