The idea with the poster is not bad at all. I’m interested also.
Thank you! Seems I need to give that poster idea a serious thought :-D

Very cool. One of my favorite Ancistrus species, and hard to get too!

Re: Hypancistrus sp Quami ?

I have been waiting for confirmation on whether or not Rio Cauame is the true location or not for this Hypancistrus. So far I have only rumors from the importer to lean on. Until it's confirmed by a reliable source that the location is true, we can't publish it with an L-number. Whatever is the real...

Re: Hypancistrus sp Quami ?

It could possibly be Hypancistrus sp. "Rio Cauame" from near Boa Vista, Brazil. It may have been smuggled out via Colombia, like a lot of Brazilian fish are.

A picture of it can be found here:

Re: My Loricariidae pictures

Hey Barry,

Thank you very much 😊 The H.lunaorum is actually not very green, it depends on the light! It looks black in normal lightning. But it does have both white and yellow dots, which is cool!

Re: My Loricariidae pictures

I forgot to mention that I work at an LFS, which is how I have access to all the materials and fish involved 😁 The background is simply a commercially produced type, chosen because it looks fairly natural.

Re: My Loricariidae pictures

Right, so let me share a few tricks with you on how to set up a photo-tank. I learned this from some other fishkeepers, and have tweaked it to suit my own preferences :-) I use a rather small aquarium, 30-40 x 20-25 x 20-25 cm (12-16 x 8-10 x 8-10 ''). This makes it possible to furnish it nicely, bu...

Re: My Loricariidae pictures

Hey guys, Thanks for your feedback :d I was looking through my archives for a pic of my photo-tank set-up, but couldn't find it. I will make a new one tomorrow. Anyway, I'm by no means a pro at this, I just learned a few tricks along the way. Certainly, a good camera is helpful, but not absolutely n...

My Loricariidae pictures

Hi all, I have quite a few pictures of Loricariidae that I would simply like to share with the PC community. These pictures have all been posted at my Facebook page (Haakon Haagensen Photo) before, but obviously not everyone is on Facebook. So, I thought I'd share some here as well :-) If the admins...

Re: Another group of Micracanthicus vandragti in the USA

Hi, Eric!

I imported 20, which will be divided among 3 breeders. Lars is one of them :d Hopefully we can establish the species in the hobby! So cool to finally see them "live", funny how those small males are so full of odontodes!

Re: Brazil Export Bans?

So if nobody does anything, the new list of species no longer allowed for export will be valid from March 2017? Who must do something to stop this? And how? Is it likely that the list will become reality, or is it likely that someone will be able to stop it? The proposed list of species, is it the s...
