Re: Is this fighting or courting?

Am not sure if its a confirm male. I mix this new fellow into the tank a day ago, so far it has yet to "cave". There are no eggs in the cave.

Is this fighting or courting?

I recorded a video clip of my new male in his cave, with a female outside the cave, but i'm not sure if this is fighting for territory or courtship. Can anyone advise?

You can "train" them to come out during the day time by feeding them more often during the day, it'll make them get used to the day time feeding environment.

Whats the size difference? I dont see any problem if the tank is big enough for both of them when they grow big.

No problem if you want to mix them, just provide adequate hiding space using driftwoods.

Driftwoods are a must for panaque. They (especially wild caught ones) might not eat immediately when you just got them hence the thin stomach, but it should not cave in too much. Just do light feeding daily and see if it starts its first bite.

Smaller nuggets are harder to keep as compared to the larger ones. I've lost a few in the past due to unknown reasons as well. Now i know take big nuggets! :P :D

A lot of difference between the small ones and the adult ones. The small ones look so much nicer with their colouration imo.

Get those with very coarse surface as they have a bigger surface area. Good products i have tried are biohome and sera siphorex.
