That fish is sooooooo pretty!! It's definitely in my good books, unfortunately it gets too big for a regular tank :( But I've never seen a fish that cleared The Plague* from a tank in such a short time, even the ones dwelling on the bottom of the sand.... ALL were exterminated within a few weeks and...

Shall I write an article about it, and send it as a genuine CotM?? I -sort of- noticed this species "missing" in there, and I have this obligation to counter my very late article on Lophiobagrus brevispinis..... :D :D :D 8) Can't get more close to Phyllonemus, then breeding them, ca...

Proof! The Cats have Spat Out the Babies.....

Phyllonemus typus babies! this is what happened..... The last few days, the exchange stopped, both parents were carrying the mouthful. Obviously those tiny fish reached sizes, one parent simply couldn't hold them all. however, these are fish that are rare to pose for any cam in normal circumstances....

yup and there's plecs and plecs. a nice little pleco such as Panaquolus maccus or something will fit perfectly in any Corydoras tank, there's tons and tons of small L-numbers, Rhineloricaria's, farlowella's, Oto's; you name it; all of whom are perfectly suited for a 100 L together with a group of Co...

Did the big black Syno make it alive to Europe? or did it end up in a jar of formaline?

A fish like that would make a stunning display in any large showtank.....

Adam, I strongly suggest to keep a GROUP of females or you will end up with a single male survivor!!

maternal mouthbrooders (all Malawians and others) are very rough on their females.....you'll need at least three.

hold it next to your ear.

There are already 2 syno's in your tank, described as "upsidedown"catfish..... if these are THE upsidedowncat (Synodontis nigriventris), you'd better find another home for them.... They will not last very long, as they're soft water fish that need a neutral to slightly acidic pH, and not c...

don't forget to put enough water in the bag.....

putting just a fish in the bag in the freezer is NOT a humane way to dispose uncurable fish!
