Re: 8 'new' Corydoras

Thanks. In the meantime I was fortunate to get the newsletter from Glaser forwarded by a good friend :) Manu 5 shortnose is C120 as Glaser states in the newsletter. Nice species. Manu 2 semi ong nose I'm thinking could be CW40. Difficult to tell without further pics. Manu 1 longnose+ Manu 4-7-8 is b...

Re: Aspidoras spawn

I don't treat my Aspidoras fry/eggs aby different than Corys. I've bred 6 or so different Aspidoras and none have been difficult apart from C35.

Re: Black Sterbai Fry ??

I've had fry like this from sterbai, panda and duplicareus. It happens sometimes. In sterbai I also found them to be quite weak, but panda and duplicareus was growing just as well as normal fry.

Diphyes and paleatus belongs to the same group so if panda/paleatus is possible then why not panda/diphyes.

Re: C. panda & C. diphyes HYBRIDS!

They do look strange, I agree with that.

According to work being done at Bangor University these two species should belong to 2 different lineages of the big cory-tree so I didn't think this was possible.

Hi Mark. It's the fish I got from Ian at the Convention. The ones that seemed different than the other lacerdai that came in and that have been bred in the UK. Johnny Jensen took pictures here a while ago and this is one of those pictures. As you know, the fish have bred here already and fin clips w...

Re: Pandas few eggs, and egg eaters

Try with spawning mops instead of moss. I use mops for my egg earters like weitzmani and erhardti. If I don't use mops for these I will never see an egg but with mops I am fairly successfull with them.

Re: C. fowleri not eating dry foods

I know this "problem" well...none of my saddlesnouts (C115, serratus, orcesi, vittatus) will touch dry food except for C. aurofrenatus "Bolivia". I feed them mainly with whiteworm, live artemia and blackworm/tubifex. Live daphnia and bloodworm is also on the menu. I've tried som ...

I can only agree to the others, it was a great event! The only thing was the choice of beer at the hotel. I would have liked some John Smith or similar, but at least they had good coffe :) Swapped a lot of fish and bought some CW51 and C140/imitator from Aqualife at a very good price and the fish we...

Guessing Ancistrus sp. Ucayali

I bought a pair of these recently thinking they looked like my remaining female Ancistrus "green spot" I caught in a small stream between Iquitos and Nauta in Peru a couple of years ago. After comparing the fish I am in doubt; they have smaller and more spots (but greenish) than my origina...

Re: anyone have panchax?

They are very easy to keep. If you have a male and a female and give them javamoss og a spawning mop you shoul have eggs within a few days. Beware that they jump!

Fry are very easy to raise on microworms and bbs :)

When I see C. panda in shops, the WC fish are generalle more sandy-coloured than the Asian imports wich are more white. If this is because of selective breeding I don't know.

Re: New Corys not feeding!Help!

In my experience, saddlenosed species prefer livefoods. The saddlesnouts I've kept og keep now ignore tablets/flakes completely, might take some frosen food but go nuts for tubifex, newly hatched artemia and so on.
