We have Otocinclus affinis, where both CoF and Fishbase have Macrotocinclus affinis. Is there a reason for this (beyond "nobody has updated it")?

Edit: Similarly, CoF and FB has O. arnoldi as a valid species, we have a synonym of O. flexilis.

Agree with Peckoltia. It looks quite washed out, which makes it hard to ID - they can vary quite a bit in colour. If you bought it, then please take some more photos. If you didn't buy it, then I guess it's a "We'll probably never know" answer.

Whilst there are plenty of Hypostominae hybrids, I find that unlikely - are you sure the " Hypostomus plecostomus " isn't of the Pterygoplichthys pardalis - which is very often sold in shops as H. plecostomus , where the "real" Hypostomus plecostomus is quite rarely found in shop...

I have fixed this particular issue, but I suspect other similar issues may have crept in with that change that broke this. I will have a more thorough search for that sort of issue.

Based on the shape of the head (as well as overall body shape), I'd say Fish 1 is female, and fish 2 is male. Not 100% sure, but pretty close to certain.

Ok, managed to track down where some of the stuff got "messed about", causing my fix to not work. Also had to make some changes to the htmlentities() function calls, as it would interfere with the way utf8_to_html() encoded content. As always, the updated code will be available when Jools ...

I can reproduce this problem, but the easy fix I thought I could make doesn't seem to work.

I will keep on digging. I'm pretty sure I know what the basic problem is, I just don't understand why the fix doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure that "getting to the surface" is not really an issue as long as the water is sufficiently oxygenated. I keep finding cory fry in my external filters, and there is certainly no "surface" inside my external filters, and the fry are big enough that they must have got...

So, I think R1304 fixes this.

R1298 contains a fix for "missed one place where it was used" from the original code. R1299 contains the fix for the original data-sub problem. It should now be fine to enter almost anything in a datafield that you could possibly type on a computer. Whether it displays correctly at the oth...

Ok, the vetting side is fixed in R1297 (I also made one other small update to the fishbase fetching code, as it used the same rather obvious name for a similar function).

It may need the same treatment in the data_sub.php...
