To me, she looks fat but not full of eggs. If you flashlight her belly, can you see eggs?
The male will tend to bite the females fin back there to try to get her to know he is ready, but usually after a bite and no interest, males would let go.. Maybe he is just a jerk?

If you put black/blood worms in the tank, it will be out at anytime of day. They go apeshit for them (Sorry mods if i cannot say that word.) They will gorge themselves on them until they look like they will explode. In the past, mine always took just about any foods, live, frozen or dry. I am not su...

I know some about the trachy trachy and quite a bit about jaguars (assuming the L. ori's ), but nothing about the other 3 other than they are longer slender fish (or atleast juru's are)

IDK, to me, the OPers fish's eyes look different. They look bigger and less buldgy than amiidae's. I am by no means an expert, nor know really anything about these, just stating what i see. I also dont see the barbel in the OP's picture on the side that is darker on amiidae's either. just my 2 cents...

Re: Grow out for 1" petricola/lucipinnis??
I would almost say the 20L is your best option. They could be fine in either of the tanks you currently have, but you also risk them getting picked on. The 20L option has the least risk for your little synos.

Re: How long can an Albino BN pleco handle 86 degrees?
make sure to increase the air in the tank/high flow. This will make it so he should be fine. I had a temp spike in a tank that i didn't realize for almost a month, they were in the mid 90s. I had 4 BN and a bunch of tetras in the tank.

It could be.
OP'er .. hurry with the pictures so we don't keep finding more fish it could be.
I think it could be a very very small aquatic llama.

Re: Ancistrus type
I am pretty sure it isn't . THere are 0 hues of red in the tail in the picture, and from the ones i have kept in the past, the red coloration was very very clear.
It could possibly be an un-described species, but as Martin has said, more pictures will help.

and for being a super rare pleco over there, i know when I am in NZ and buying my plecos, i am not going to buy based off internet pictures. To shell out the money on something that isn't common and expensive and not see it first is not a great idea.

P. lurjani, easy to breed if you have 2. my male always backed into his cave rather than going head first. They aren't extremely colored, but a fun fish to have. Enjoy your little one!

Well I am strictly sticking to the stocking question part of this discussion.. LOL.. I think if you are looking for color/schooling.. i would go with a decent school of red and blue columbian tetras.. I loved my school when i had my 125.. they got big (3" TL?) and were super blue and red. Not s...

No, they are not as common as the standard and the albinos, and i do agree they are cooler. They look amazing with longfins as well.Annabellam wrote: They are not as common as the rest. I haven't seen them around much. I think i would pay more for the blue eyes, they're pretty cool.

L144 will not be the fish they have. From what i understand the true L144 was rarely exported. All of the fish that are seen in the hobby tend to be the "blue eyed" cirrhosus.
someone correct me if i am wrong.

you've done bristlenose, so i assume the common bristlenose. Without having the panaqolus destroying your wood and filling your tank with poop, have you considered any of the black ancistrus with white spots? (L180-184?) They would keep the wood clean, and the glass, not poop as much, are beautiful,...
