If you are able to catch the fish......then rub your finger down the snout. If it is slippery then it is a male, if it is rough then a female!

This has worked for me! :lol:

What is the L288, all i know is that it is a peckoltia species, but what does it look like?

We have the first species in Australia. We call it orange spot bristlenose. And yes we have no idea what it is either?????

We thought it was a hybrid.....

i have had cories in a tank with breeding bristlenose. They will eat any of the fry they can catch, which will be most of them!

We deal with this kind of heat every summer, down here in australia! my tank has got up 33 for before on a regular basis. Water changes late in the afternoon and keeping the sun out of the room during the day will help!

the only thing different to the pic are that they dont have patches of colour they have deffinite spots!!

a couple of the pics look similar. I was told these aren't commons but some new type??

They look like the slarlight, except they have gold spots and lack the solid colouring on the dorsal and tail and are brown!

looks like they might just be a nice variation of the common?

Will bn's cross breed

I am looking to start breeding a second type of b'n but have limited tanks space at the moment and was wondering if they will cross breed if they are put into the same tank as the other?

There is currently commons in there and i want to add starlights

I also have a couple of yellow ones????

I have found that if you feed them a lot of pumpkin they will get a yellow tinge to!

I have found that my commons will eat almost any vegies you can find, even pumpkin and they will even eat some friuts like melon etc

You will find that the adonis will get a bit aggressive as it gets older, but i have never heard of the L200 being aggressive but your gold nugget will be very aggressive as it get bigger!!

has anyone ever had one of these because i have read so many thing on so many different sites lately. The most common size on all the sites i have read is that they only get to 50cm including tail, so total body lenght being about 25cm???? Who knows ??????
