I am not an expert but I had a lot of cories in a planted 125 with co2 and they did very well.

Uaru for sale in NW Indiana
I have 8 young Uaru amphioacanthoides for sale in Indiana right by Chicago. These are about the size of a silver dollar right now. These are great fish for a large Amazon community tank but they get very big. Be prepared! $20.00 each.

Re: Species delimitation in Neoplecostomus using morphological and molecular approaches
Is there a short summary someplace of the process used to determine and name a new species? Many fish fans would be interested in knowing how it works and why it takes so long. With all the new species being found around the planet, will the taxonomists ever catch up?

I have never seen any fighting at all and no obvious wounds from any fighting. Of course, all I ever do see of them is their tails!

Re: Peckolotia compta L134 - What To expect.?
Mine are in a species tank and have started reproducing. They get good filtration, a good flow, and warm water and seem pretty easy. There are 6 wild adults in a 40 gal breeder and get Xtreme Scrapers and Repashy Meat Pie.

New fish room
I am going to build a new fish room in the basement. I have about 30 tanks going now and have a bunch of new and used aquariums piled in another part of the basement waiting for me. It will be mostly cories and smaller plecos and I have the luxury of a largely bare and unused basement and no wife or...

Re: confession time: worst fishkeeping screw ups! come on folks we've all done them!
My family calls me a hoarder all the time because I tend to keep stuff long past its useful life. Sometimes the clutter gets so bad as to leave myself only trails through the clutter. Last year I had been cleaning up some spilled food in the fishroom and drove the end of the broom right into the sid...

Re: Interesting hybridization (not fish)
Dogs are technically incredibly hybridized wolves, the same species. Its not a surprise that they cross. Coyotes are different. I dont think it is a good development that these crosses are thriving with a serious predator moving into urban areas. They will kill a lot of pets. Who knows, maybe people...

please do not try to cross-breed different species. They are all beautiful as is, in their own right.

I think your photos show 3 M and 2 F. My 129 breed pretty easily. Give them good food, clean and good water current. weekly water changes, and lots of hiding spots and small caves. Mine get Xtreme Catfish Scrapers and Repashy Meat Pie.

Please note, the "varieties" of cories you now find are different and newly found species, save a couple long fins and albinos. They are not varieties of the same species as with all the different lines of common bristlenoses plecos. Have fun, cories can be addictive!

I am growing out some young H zebra and notice two of them have a blue tint to their tails and other fins. Has anyone seen that before? They seem to be fine other than that.

I will never buy fish from a big box store again and have not for years. It is online sales from reputable breeders and importers or locally owned stores with good experience. Even then, I will only deal with the employees I know.

There is a big learning curve to fishkeeping. If you are brand new to the hobby, start with cheaper fish. I worked with a kid once (25 y/o is a kid to me! ) that had never had an aquarium but wanted to get a motoro ray as his first fish. NOT a good idea.
