i do 50% every 4th day , but my biggest tanks are only 75 gals. I adjust the water using the hot and cold taps to adjust to correct temp, i use the python from the sink to the tank. I add in the Prime as the water goes in. Not all the time it goes in, just however much for the tank once as i run it ...

i use carib sea in all my tanks. I use the black in some and the white and black mixed in some and the white black and orange in some mixed.
all my tanks with corys are fine. they snuffle thru it in glee. been running the sand with them since 2007.
I also do some tahitian moon with playsand mixed.

I have never had a MTS harm any of my plants either.

are they Malaysian Trumpet Snails? i purposefully added some to all my tanks as all my tanks have sand beds, i love them.

I use the python water change system on all mybigger tanks. wonderful.
I think larger frequent water changes benefit the fish immensely.
I choose 50% every 4th day on my bigger tanks to keep the NA at around 5 ppm.
My small betta ten gals i do once a week 50% to do the same.

i do 4 weeks in QT also. Which starts over if you have to medicate them during that time for anything. starts over when they are better from whatever they got medicated for.

I am a big believer in take care of the water and the fish will take care of themselves.
