My adult ancistrust start doing the same thing .I slice a zuccinni down the middle and hang it in the tank and they stop.In a couple of week they will start again .may be she wants a change of diet.

Well my heard has started another nest ,I added some sycamore leaves to the tank and watched the fun while they were incorporated into the nest .Maybe this time.

I don't use a hook .I use a 4to6 in length of white nylon line unravualed .I fix it to my fly tippit buy melting the end and to make it hard and then I wipp on a mono loop.most of the time I use an eight rod with a weight foward bass bug line

I have two males and one female and have had about 5 nest but no fry yet.

Yep they are good eats ,better than any crab cake I ever tasted and fun to catch .I use a fly rod with a 4in peice of nylon rope unraveled ,It hangs up in their teeth and they can be relised unharmed I always cut females loose.

Frist find a market for these fish ,lets say they are good to eat [witch they are ] Now put a limit on how many you can catch .Charge a big fine for possesing them and thoses crooks down there will fall over each other to steal them out of the lake.Bam no more fish

re the hoplos nesting ? Mine really play ruff when guarding the nest,one of mine sliced open the back of my hand while guarding.
